Information for GA/FAs
-
If you are a GA/FA, you will received an email from the Graduate Coordinator letting you know your assignment for the semester about a week before your duties commence. Be sure to coordinate with the faculty member(s) you are assigned to work with.
-
The Graduate Coordinator is your ex officio supervisor/manager.
-
GAs get a work email address (
unlv.edu). Make sure to forward it to your student email address (unlv.nevada.edu), or the other way around. Check your email daily. -
GAs are subject to the policies in the GA Handbook, so review it.
Graduate College → Financial Resources → Graduate Assistants is the Graduate College's hub for graduate assistantships. It covers how to apply, how to manage an offer and the policies that govern GAs, and it links the resources available to those appointed, including the GA Handbook, stipend and payroll information, benefits and orientation. Consult it if you are seeking or have been offered an assistantship.
