Graduating

The final-semester sequence​

  1. Submit the Plan of Study Form (Parts I and II). Submit in the beginning of your final semester; run it by the Graduate Coordinator before submitting (see Forms for more details).
  2. Apply for graduation and mind the Graduate College's graduation deadlines. Apply through MyUNLV; a late application carries an additional fee. Do not rely on remembered dates; check the calendar for your graduating term.
  3. Submit the Culminating Experience Results Form. On the Capstone Experience or Internship subtracks this is the No-Committee version, submitted during the last week of ECO 795 (or ECO 784 if approved); on the Professional Paper subtrack it follows your oral defense. The forms and their timing are listed in Forms.
  4. Complete the Lee Exit Survey about which you will get an email from the Lee Office of Graduate Student Services.
  5. Complete the UNLV Exit Survey, for which the Graduate College publishes a deadline each term.

Per Graduate College policy, you must be registered for at least 3 graduate credits during the semester in which you intend to graduate, but you may be granted an exception to this policy during the semester of graduation in some circumstances; please refer to the Graduate College's enrollment waiver policy.

Graduation deadlines​

Graduation Deadlines — the Graduate College's term-by-term deadline calendar, covering the dates to apply for graduation, request a late application, submit forms and complete the exit survey. Follow the non-thesis track, since the QBE culminating experience does not involve a thesis defense or ProQuest submission; the thesis-defense, format-review and ProQuest rows do not apply to you.

Graduating in the summer

Per Graduate College policy, students may not participate in commencement until all degree requirements have been met. Summer graduates (August degree conferral) therefore participate in the following December commencement ceremony by default. If, however, you have only 3 credits left to complete during your graduating summer (for example, ECO 759 as your sole remaining requirement), you may be eligible—subject to approval by the Graduate College—to walk in the May ceremony instead of waiting until December. To request this:

  1. Apply for graduation before March 1 during the spring semester, selecting "summer" as your graduation term.
  2. Submit an appeal form through the Grad Rebel Gateway requesting permission to participate in the May ceremony.
